
Don’t let the name fool you, you’ll want to savour every bite.
Ingredients
• 1 cup cubed deer meat (any venison works)
• 1 small diced onion
• 1 bell pepper cut into bite sized pieces
• 1 T minced ginger root
• 1 medium cubed tomato (or ½ cup canned tomato)
• 1 can or jar of Indian curry sauce such as rogan josh or tikka (approx. 1.5 cups)
• 2 cloves crushed garlic
• 1 T ghee
• Salt to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the raw veggies and set aside
- Heat ghee over medium high heat then add garlic, ginger, deer meat and onions.
- Stir until the meat begins to brown then add tomatoes and continue stirring while frying the mixture
- After 5 minutes of frying, stir in peppers and fry the mixture for a couple minutes
- Pour in curry sauce and stir entire mixture, turning burner to medium low to prevent spitting or burning.
- Add salt and do a taste test. Adjust accordingly
- Low boil the curry until meat is cooked through (about 20 mins)
- Serve hot over steamed rice
