Sika Deer Curry In A Hurry

Ingredients

• 1 cup cubed deer meat (any venison works)

• 1 small diced onion

• 1 bell pepper cut into bite sized pieces 

• 1 T minced ginger root

• 1 medium cubed tomato (or ½ cup canned tomato)

• 1 can or jar of Indian curry sauce such as rogan josh or tikka (approx. 1.5 cups)

• 2 cloves crushed garlic

• 1 T ghee 

• Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the raw veggies and set aside
  2. Heat ghee over medium high heat then add garlic, ginger, deer meat and onions.
  3. Stir until the meat begins to brown then add tomatoes and continue stirring while frying the mixture
  4. After 5 minutes of frying, stir in peppers and fry the mixture for a couple minutes
  5. Pour in curry sauce and stir entire mixture, turning burner to medium low to prevent spitting or burning. 
  6. Add salt and do a taste test.  Adjust accordingly
  7. Low boil the curry until meat is cooked through (about 20 mins)
  8. Serve hot over steamed rice
